Ministry Distinctives
In order to provide a better understanding of particulars of our ministry, here a a few of our distinct features:
Philosophy of Counseling The Holy Scriptures (the writings of the Old and New Testaments) are the
very Word of God, verbally inspired in all parts and therefore wholly without
error as originally given of God and are altogether sufficient in themselves as
the only rule of faith and practice. The Bible is wholly true in everything it
affirms, whether its affirmations concern doctrine, Christian practice,
history, geography, science or behavior sciences.
In genuine salvation, through the use of the
Scriptures, the believer is completely equipped to handle any situation in life
in a way that pleases God and benefits the believer leading toward the goal of
joyful Christ-likeness. Paul tells Timothy
that the Scriptures “thoroughly furnish” or completely equip the person
of God so that he or she will be able to handle any situation in a way that
pleases God (2 Timothy 3:16,17). The Scriptures are able to equip completely the
believer for any life situation. For further information on this philosophy of
counseling, visit the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors. To understand the basic history and ideas of nouthetic counseling, please read this history and summary of Nouthetic Counseling.
